YOUR ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

As the Global Director of Threat Prevention & OT Security, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and fortifying Brenntag cybersecurity posture on a global scale. This strategic leadership position encompasses the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of threat prevention measures, with a focus on safeguarding Brenntag infrastructure.

  • Provide visionary leadership in the cybersecurity domain, ensuring a proactive and adaptable approach to emerging threats.
  • Lead and inspire a global team of cybersecurity professionals.
  • Cultivate a culture of continuous learning and development within the cybersecurity team.
  • Foster a collaborative and security-conscious culture across the organization.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to align security initiatives with business goals.
  • Evaluate and enhance security infrastructure, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and other security technologies on a global scale.
  • Lead the vulnerability management program, including vulnerability assessments, prioritization, and remediation efforts.
  • Ensure the organization's communication channels remain secure and resilient against email-based attacks.
  • Manage network security, cryptography, email security, server hardening, and client/endpoint security.
  • Safeguard digital data from unauthorized access, modification, destruction, or disclosure.
  • Formulate and implement extensive security measures for our OT systems, securing critical operational processes.
  • Management of OT security risks in line with IT and company strategy, the policy framework, laws and regulations and best in class industry standards
  • Conduct regular assessments and audits of OT security measures to identify and address vulnerabilities. Participation in the development of new solutions in the OT security environment.
  • Lead cybersecurity assessments and due diligence processes for potential mergers and acquisitions(M&A).
  • Develop and implement integration plans to ensure the secure assimilation of acquired entities into the existing cybersecurity framework.
  • Stay informed about industry-specific regulations and compliance requirements for both OT and IT security.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify security needs and potential threats.
  • Develop and implement cybersecurity and Operational Technology (OT) security awareness campaigns and training programs.
  • Oversee cloud orchestrations, integration, and security measures.
  • Ensure the security of cloud-based platforms. 

YOUR PROFILE

  • Master’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience in Information Systems.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in cybersecurity, with a focus on both IT and OT security.
  • Industry-recognized certifications such as CISSP, CISM, ISO27001 and IEC62443.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to influence and drive a security-centric culture.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills in English and German.
