suppliers and Medicinal Product Producers and manages the Distribution of APIs,
Excipients, Intermediates, as well as base chemicals with Value-Added Services.

This position can be filled in any EMEA Brenntag location.
YOUR ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
Purpose of the Role
Your responsibility will be to develop and maintain an attractive API
(Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients) portfolio for our Pharma EMEA operations.
You will gain an overview of our EMEA-wide API product basket and – in
collaboration with sales and the other IMMs – identify unused potentials and
screen for white spots. You will create and stay in contact with international
suppliers, manage relationships and pricing discussions and provide guidance to
our sales force. Strategic development of our API business will be the main
focus of this position.
General responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Definition and development of EMEA-wide API (Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients) product portfolio
- Building value adding supplier relationships (incl. supplier selection)
- Identification of market trends in the API sector that hold business potential
- Management of supplier relationships, source products, and engage in business reviews
- Conduction of trainings, briefings etc. to update sales force on new products and suppliers
- Participation in joint visits with customers & audits
- Development of marketing and business positioning campaigns together with the marketing team and execute them
- Definition of the themes, priorities and focus areas for exhibitions and participate in regional trade fair activities
- Negotiation of prices with key suppliers, control product costs and optimize GP margins
YOUR PROFILE
- University degree in
Pharmacology or related discipline
- 5+ years experience
in the pharmaceutical market environment (e.g. distributor, manufacturer)
- Strong product and
market knowledge of pharmaceutical industry with a focus on APIs
- Experienced in
import & export of APIs
- Strong in strategic
thinking, analyzing market information and identifying trends/focus areas
- Sound computer
skills in the use of Microsoft Office
- Superior
interpersonal communication and negotiation skills
- Fluency in English, both written and verbal
- Availability to travel internationally
