Sales Manager Lubricants & Performance Fluids DACH (m/f/d)

Our team in Essen currently has an opening for a Sales Manager Lubricants & Performance Fluids DACH (m/f/d)

YOUR ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Management of a team of internal and external account managers
  • Responsible for lubricants raw material sales in Germany, Switzerland and Austria
  • Develop and effectively communicate sales strategy in line with Lubricants EMEA business strategy
  • Full responsibility for budget planning and constant monitoring of target achievement
  • Regular reporting of sales results to the Lubricants EMEA organization
  • Build and foster key customer relationships, including regular F2F meetings as well as contract negotiations and contract management
  • Support supplier relationship management, e.g., via business reviews, forecasting, project pipeline management etc.
  • Set team and individual targets / KPIs and motivate the sales team to achieve financial targets and KPIs
  • Build a high-performance and successful sales team with required techno-commercial skills
  • Actively manage direction and quantity of account managers activities and resulting sales performance
  • Responsible for people development, including regular review meetings and coaching sessions
  • Take responsibility for dealing with under-performers; interview & recruit new sales team members
  • Ensure implementation of individual action plans, sales initiatives, campaigns, commercial excellence guidelines etc.
  • Pre-define and communicate service levels, payment terms etc. - in alignment with defined guidelines (customer segmentation,commercial excellence)
  • Review and maintain the quality and quantity of all CRM activities
  • Make sure sales team are owning and developing a project pipeline in CRM according to KPIs
  • Adherence to Brenntag´s core values and leading by example in terms of customer orientation
  • Ensure all commercial activities within her/his area of responsibility are conducted in line with Brenntag's codes, policies,guidelines and local and international legislations
  • Maintain up-to-date market, product, and application knowledge, e.g., via training and exchange with central marketing team

YOUR PROFILE

  • Bachelor of science degree/ higher education qualification
  • Preferably post-secondary education with a focus in business, science or equivalent preferred
  • Several years of experience in chemical distribution, experience in lubricants industry beneficial
  • Good people-management and motivational skillsProven ability to work collaboratively and influence other departments
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Strong techno-commercial and business acumen and a problem-solving attitude
  • Strategic thinking and strong analytical skills
  • Self-starter and achievement-oriented
  • Project management experience
  • Business and marketing know-how
  • Willingness to do business travel to manage sales team and visit key customers/ suppliers
  • Fluent in English (written & spoken)
